We are planning to attempt a new Guinness World Record for the Longest Zumba Class!
To qualify, the event must follow the rules established by Guinness World Records. Among other requirements, this means that:
- The same instructor must lead the class for the entire duration of the attempt.
- At least ten participants must remain in the class for the full duration of the record attempt.
- For every hour of continuous dancing, participants earn five minutes of rest time. These breaks will be combined into longer scheduled breaks throughout the event to allow participants time to eat, drink, change clothes, and recover.
- Outside of scheduled breaks, participants must continue following the choreography and remain actively engaged in the class.
- Official timekeepers will be required to track the duration of the attempt.
- Witnesses will be required to observe and document the event.
Although only a minimum of ten participants are required to complete the entire attempt, we are aiming to recruit at least 30 long-term participants. This will help ensure that the record attempt can continue successfully even if some participants are unable to finish due to fatigue or injury.
Most importantly, this event is intended to be a celebration of fitness, endurance, and community. You do not need to participate in the full record attempt to join the fun – everyone will be welcome to attend and dance for shorter periods throughout the event.
Oh and in case you’re wondering: the current record for the Longest Zumba Class is 24 hours.
