Hydration

Not drinking is not an option!

If you participate in the World Record attempt, you need to make sure you stay well hydrated with a mix of water and electrolyte-drinks to stay safe and active!

How much you should drink per hour depends a lot on your size, weight and activity level, so we can only provide general recommendations for how much you should drink,

But the good thing: you can test that!

The Hydration Test

Step 1)
Before your Zumba workout, weigh yourself (wearing as little clothing as appropriate for where you are)

Step 2)
Go to your workout. Ideally, you don’t drink any water during your workout, but if you drink, make sure you know how much you drank!

Step 3)
Weigh yourself after the workout, wearing the same amount of clothing as you wore initially
(the more clothing you wear, the less accurate the test will be)

Step 4)
Subtract your pre-workout weight from your post-workout weight – that’s the amount of fluid you’ve lost during your workout and the target amount you should aim to drink

Example:
You weighed 62.7 kg before your workout
You weighed 62.5 kg after your workout
So you’ve lost 0.2 liters of water during the workout!

But: if you also drank 0.5 liters during the class, that brings your total estimated fluid loss to
0.2 kg (weight difference) + 0.5 liters (consumed) = 0.7 liters

Ideally, you do this test a few times to get an average!
